We need to get the process started where these beverage containers that qualify for a 10c deposit refund are returned to the several Darwin region collection centres.

Presently these collectables are being sent to the Rubbish tip via the Darwin City Council waste management system.

If they do happen to make it to the Yellow bin recycling method then the recycler is able to obtain the 10c refunds which have been paid for by the consumer of the product. That means a hell of a lot of additional profit for the current recycler.

There is an opportunity for change in the current system but it will take a re education process for the consumer to dispose of the refundable container properly so that the community can benefit.

Would you pick up 10 cents if it was found on the street you walking along..!!!

Now that 10 cents is in a container would you pick it up and take it to the collection centre.

Let the WALKERS enjoy the collection and take the stigma out of stooping down to pick up little pieces of GOLD.

The deposit container is now your friend so treat it with respect and enjoy the fruits or at least pass it on to someone who will respect it and return it to the collection centre.

Lets get this stuff out of the rubbish and into a refund centre.
